In the Urban Environment area, you will find the Park and Nature Unit together with Street Maintenance, City Maintenance, and the Traffic Unit. The Park and Nature Unit manages and develops green areas, parks, and nature reserves. Our unit consists of officials and operational staff, currently totaling 25 people. Together with the other units, we create a pleasant workplace where we are all ambassadors for Eskilstuna Municipality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone who wants to work with the maintenance of our parks and green environments. Your work contributes to making Eskilstuna a pleasant and safe city for both residents and visitors.

The work involves all common park maintenance tasks, such as weeding, pruning, and planting perennials, shrubs, and trees. You will also be responsible for supervising playgrounds and some cleaning in parks and other public areas. The Park Unit is responsible for seasonal decorations, such as winter lighting in the city, where you will be part of the work.

We expect you to be open to mentoring LIA interns, summer workers, and holiday interns. We are looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes responsibility, and collaborates well with others. With us, you will be an important part of Eskilstuna Municipality's efforts for a green and sustainable city.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a vocational education with a focus on gardening or a nature management high school with a focus on gardening that we assess as equivalent. You should have good plant knowledge and knowledge of pruning trees, shrubs, and perennials. Your work is outdoors and varies with the seasons, so it is important that you have good physical fitness and are comfortable working outside year-round, regardless of the weather. You should also be able to work at heights and have a B driver's license. It is advantageous if you have completed training for work on roads, chainsaw, brush cutter, and mobile work platforms.

In addition to your practical skills, you have good communication abilities. You enjoy meeting people and feel comfortable addressing public opinions with an open mind. We see that you are a positive, responsible, and driven person, with the ability to inspire others with your commitment. You find it easy to work both in a team and independently and can quickly adapt to changing circumstances.
